Military Plane Crash: Emotional Photos, Video as Osinbajo's Wife Visits Late COAS Attahiru's family, Others

Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, the wife of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has paid condolence visits to the families of the military officers who died in the plane crash on Friday, May 21, in Kaduna.

The Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 other military officers lost their lives in an unfortunate plane accident.

A statement sent to Legit.ng by the Office of the Vice President indicates that Mrs Dolapo, immediately after hearing about the plane crash, made it a point of duty to visit the families of the departed military officers, consoling their widows, relatives, offering relief and emotional support.

Legit.ng gathers that Mrs Dolapo on Friday visited the wife of the late COAS, accompanied by the wife of Chief of Defense Staff, Mrs Victoria Irabor.

On Saturday, May 22, the vice president's wife returned to the Flag Staff House, the official residence of the COAS at Niger Barracks to spend more time with the family and further console the widow of the late Army chief.

On Sunday, May 23, Mrs Osinbajo, also accompanied by Mrs Irabor, the wives of the Chief of Naval Staff, Hajiya Nana Aishat Gambo; and Chief of Air Staff, Mrs Elizabeth Olubunmi Amao, went to see the widow of the COAS again to offer her emotional support.

Afterwards, she led others to visit the wife of the late Provost Marshal of the Nigerian Army, Brig-Gen Olatunji Olayinka, and other spouses of departed army officers at the barracks.

Mrs Dolapo also proceeded to the NAF Base to meet with the widows and relatives of all the Abuja based deceased Air Force officers.

There she met with families of deceased officers, Flt Lt A Olufade, Sgt Adesina and ACM Oyedepo.

In total, Mrs Dolapo has since visited relatives and families of seven of the departed military officers; three at the NAF Base and four at the Niger Barracks, Abuja.

Meanwhile, the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has also paid a condolence visit to Attahiru's family.

Mrs Aisha shared photos of her visit to the Attahiru family on her verified Twitter handle on Sunday, May 23.

The First Lady described the death of the late army chief and the other military in the plane crash as a monumental loss to their families and the nation.
