Amid tears and wailing, the remains of late Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 other military personnel who were victims of the Friday, May 21, plane crash have arrived in Abuja.
The bodies of the deceased heroes arrived at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport Abuja on Saturday, May 22, The Nation reports.

Earlier, the burial proceedings for Attahiru and six other senior staff had been announced by the Nigerian Army.
The deceased who lost their lives in a military plane crash in Kaduna on Friday, May 21, will be buried on Saturday in Abuja.
Mohammed Yerima, the army spokesman, in a series of tweets disclosed that the event would commence by 10 a.m. at the National Mosque and National Christian Centre.
The interment will also be held on the same day at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja at 1 p.m.
The death of Attahiru came as a rude shock to Nigerians who have been reacting in different ways.
President Muhammdu Buhari described the death of the Army boss and other military officers as a mortal blow to Nigeria's underbelly. He also condoled with the families of the deceased.
A former Nigerian vice president, Atiku Abubakar, referred to Attahiru's death as constituting a dark day for the entire nation.

He commiserated with President Buhari and the bereaved families of the deceased military officers. On his part, the outspoken former senator from Kaduna, Shehu Sani, described what happened as a national tragedy.
Geoffrey Onyeama, the minister of foreign affairs, was also saddened by the sudden demise of COAS alongside other military personnel.
He said:
"Saddened by the passing of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru and others. May their souls rest in perfect peace, may God console their families, friends, colleagues and all who mourn them."
