General Attahiru Had the Zeal to Tackle Insecurity in Nigeria, AYCF President Shettima Yerima

The national president, of the Arewa Youths Consultative Forum (AYCF), Shettima Yerima, has described the death of the Chief of Army Staff, (COAS), Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, as a huge loss to the nation.
Speaking with a Legit.ng correspondent shortly after the plane crash the killed the COAS occurred, Yerima said the late military chief had the zeal and commitment to deal with insecurity across the country.
He described the dearth of the general as shocking.
The politician said:
''It is a great loss to the country, It is a great loss to everybody now because this is a man who was willing to bring an end to insecurity in this country.
''It is a shock, we pray for God to give his family the fortitude bear the loss and also Nigerians at large.''
Yerima stated that the crash occurred when the plane was about to land. He blamed bad weather for the sad incident.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Defence Headquarters has opened up on the cause of the plane crash that resulted in the death of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 other officers on Friday, May 21.
According to Onyema Nwachukwu, the defence spokesman, although the incident is still being investigated, the crash occurred after the aircraft landed at the Kaduna International Airport.
However, Nwachukwu via the DHQ's verified Twitter page disclosed that General Lucky Irabor, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) has directed that an Accident Investigation Board be constituted to ascertain remote and immediate causes of the tragedy.
In another news, President Muhammadu Buhari said he is deeply saddened over the air crash that claimed the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, and other military officers.
The Nigerian leader's reaction is contained in a statement released by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina late Friday, May 21.
The president condoled with families of the deceased, the military, and Nigerians in general, describing them as “heroes who paid the ultimate price for peace and security in the land.
