It was learnt that the governor of Ebonyi state, Dave Umahai and some other governors of the APC are also expected to arrive the state.

In its report, Daily Sun stated that seven APC governors are expected to meet with Ayade on Thursday morning, May 20, adding that those from Ekiti, Plateau, and Yobe states have also arrived Calabar.

The newspaper also cited sources as saying that the governors are in the state to woo Ayade to move over to APC in view of the crisis rocking the PDP in the state.

However, another source was cited as hinting that Governor Ayade would not defect to APC no matter the pressure but would listen to know what they have for the state.

Ayade and some members of the National Assembly and the PDP's leadership have been engaged in a running battle over the control of party structures and the northern senatorial seat.
