NLC President will Never Return to Kaduna by the Time I'm Done with him, El-Rufai Vows

Amid the protest of the the Nigerian Labour Congress entering day 3 in Kaduna state, Governor Nasir El-Rufai has vowed that Comrade Ayuba Wabba and other labour leaders will be dealt with.
El-Rufai made the statement on Wednesday, May 19, during the 23rd Annual Tax Conference in Kaduna, Daily Trust reports.
He said by the time his government is done with them Wabba and other NLC leaders will never return to Kaduna state.
The Kaduna state governor described the labour leaders as criminals, added that their actions which prevented businesses like banks, petrol stations and others from opening is illegal.

The Governor pointed out that his government was not against the right of workers to embark on strike, but such workers must walk out of their work place and allow it to function without them.
El-Rufai said those responsible for such were liable to be convicted on the Miscellaneous Offences Act, which attracts a minimum penalty of 21 years imprisonment, The Nation reports.
This development is coming hours after the Kaduna state governor asked the NLC president to report to the nearest police station.
El-Rufai who made the statement on Tuesday, May 18, during a chat with journalists, said there is no going back on his decision to sack workers and the state is not ready to reach any compromise with the union.

Earlier, the president of the NLC had dared El-Rufai to arrest him. Wabba made the statement after the Kaduna governor declared him wanted for economic sabotage.
The NLC president told journalists that the protest was about workers in the state and not about him.
Ayuba led the second-day protest from NLC secretariat at Golf Course road to NEPA Roundabout on Ahmadu Bello Way through Independence Way to Muhammadu Buhari Way.
