Don’t Hold Rally Here for Now, Aseyin of Iseyinland Tells Igboho, Other Yoruba Nation Agitators

A royal message has been sent to agitators of Yoruba nation. The message is simple: Don't come to Iseyin land for any rally for now.
The message was sent by no other person than the Aseyin of Iseyinland, Oba Abdulganiyy Salau, Punch reports.

The king stated that the current mood in the town was not suitable for such a rally because it could easily turn violent.
According to a report, five youths were reportedly shot dead by some security officers while people were celebrating Eid-el-Fitr.
He said:
“Yes, I said they should not bring Yoruba nation rally to Iseyin. The town is not in the mood for such rally now considering what happened last week.
“You can know when they will start but anything can happen along the line. The people are still grieving. So, they should not come to Iseyin for any rally now.”
In another report, a Yoruba organisation, Yoruba Appraisal Forum (YAF), has strongly rejected the secessionist agitation being championed by Igboho.
Sunday Igboho has been in the news recently following his call for the secession of the Yoruba nation from Nigeria.
However, the pan-Yoruba group staged a protest on Thursday, May 6, in Ado Ekiti to condemn Igboho's secession agenda, describing such a move as treasonable and unpatriotic.

Meanwhile, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Nigeria's former president, has condemned the calls for the nation's breakup by some ethnic advocates.
The former president described calls for Nigeria's break up as unmindful and insensitive to the plight of the minority groups in the country, a statement sent on Wednesday, May 5, to Legit.ng by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, indicates.
He expressed worry over what would become of the minority groups if the major tribes such as Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo decided to secede and begin to operate as separate countries.
