Hip-hop rap queen Nicki Minaj is back and with a new hit. The award-winning rapper had taken time off social media and from making music to focus on her life.
Minaj was on a live video on Instagram where she revealed that she was going through some things that forced her to take a step back from the limelight.
The 38-year-old singer and her hubby recently welcomed their baby boy Papa bear. On top of that, Minaj has also been grieving after losing her dad, who died after a hit and run accident.
While doing the live video online, Minaj thanked her fans for always being there for her even when she takes long noticeable breaks from social media and making music.

She said:
"Papa bear is doing great. Two days ago he said mama, and I recorded him and did not even know she was saying mama until I went back and played the recording. I was wondering why my baby boy was all over, yet he was trying to get me to listen to him saying, mama. Well, I may put that up or not, that's my baby and I am overprotective."
She also announced that she would be putting up her mixtape, which she released 12 years ago on streaming platforms.
However, the mixtape will have newly remixed songs and other additional ones to give it a new taste.
During the Instagram live, Minaj revealed that she is currently working on a new album and even disclosed that she recorded a few songs the previous night.
Her new album will be followed up by a documentary that she mentioned will be out soon. She, however, did not give details of what it will be about.
Minaj shared that she needed the break because she had mom things to focus on and because she was experiencing writer's block.

"The hiatus was mainly fun because I was in mommy mode but I was also going through writer's block for a second. And then all of a sudden, I called Drake and asked who I could collabo with right now and he sent me a song that worked magic for me."
While talking about her music career, fellow rapper Drake joined the live video, and she had to pause the streaming for a while to get the God's Plan on the live video.

The mother of one also disclosed that Drake singlehandedly got her out of the writer's block and made her feel so competitive again.
"Outside of rap, he would send me pep talks and he would send one text that would make me reevaluate everything. He is a genius."
The trio, Drake, Lil Wayne and Minaj have worked on a song that made it to the mixtape, which the Did It On Em raper released.
