Popular Nigerian singer, Olanrewaju Fasasi, otherwise known as Sound Sultan is currently going through a challenging time as the musician was reportedly diagnosed with throat cancer.

Sahara Reporters state that the singer is battling with the disease in the United States of America.

According to Healthline.com, men are more likely to develop throat cancer than women. It noted that certain lifestyle habits like smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, poor dental hygiene, among other things increase the risk of developing cancer of the throat.

It was, however, noted that the singer is currently undergoing chemotherapy to destroy the harmful cancer cells in his throat.

Meanwhile, a peek into the social media page of the actor shows that he made some posts a few days ago.

The singer celebrated Mother's Day by posting a photo of his wife. He also shared a photo thanking God for loving him so much.

Hours after the reports made the rounds, the singer's elder brother, Baba Dee, who reached out to Qed.ng, dismissed the rumours of throat cancer while confirming that the singer is indeed sick.

Baba Dee assured that his brother is recuperating in New York.

In other news, Legit.ng earlier reported that Patience Ozokwo spoke on standing by her sick husband.

In an interview with Rubbinmindsnow shared on Instagram, the talented woman talked extensively about her struggles when her husband fell terribly ill.

Patience stated that she had no choice but to stick with the sick man even when everyone thought she would leave at some point.

She said she had to battle with taking care of their kids and her ailing husband without the option of divorce because of her background as a Christian.
