His application was accepted but he was expected to sponsor his trip from Nigeria to Germany.

In his words:

"The conference would be responsible for my accommodation and transit within Cologne. But each participant was to be responsible for transportation from home country to Cologne. I was excited and sad at the same time. Excited that I got in as one of the few Africans."

Adeniran said after his visa interview, he started thinking of ways to buy flight ticket, adding that he searched the internet for various cheap tickets and many cheap routes to Germany.

In his words:

"Alas, there was none. Not even through the popular Mediterranean sea... LOL. My visa was approved by the German embassy."

He then thought of writing airlines to allow him occupy one of their empty seats when flying out of Nigeria.

Adeniran said:

"One day while surfing the internet at Faj Cafe in OAU, an idea struck. When airlines travel out of Nigeria, they definitely should have empty seats. Not every time the seats are always full. Why can't one of the airlines give me one of these empty seats to support my travel?"

According to Adeniran, Adenike didn't reply the email he sent to her and he decided to visit her in the office.

The woman was surprised that the man who had sent her an email decided to show up in person. She didn't only give him a free return seat to Frankfurt, she also gave him a free train ticket from Fankfurt to Cologne.
