Manchester City star goalkeeper Ederson has been spotted giving Everton’s Richarlison the famous R9 haircut.
Brazilian legend Ronaldo stunned the world when he emerged from the tunnel during the final of the 2002 World Cup with the stunning haircut.
He instantly became a fashion trendsetter with the fact that it was deliberately shaped into a small triangle as it turned quite a few heads.
Unsurprisingly, despite Ronaldo's incredible tournament that saw him claim the Golden Boot to help his country win the top prize, the unusual hairstyle failed to take off.
The initial thought was that it will become the new trend for kids around the globe, but somehow it was not so.
The famous hairstyle has now been adopted as City’s Ederson gave the cut to Richarlison who he once blasted for heckling him from behind the goal earlier in the year.
Ederson lost his cool after being taunted by team-mate Richarlison during a Brazil training session and reacted by kicking a ball in his direction.
A video clip showed the Everton winger standing behind the goal while Ederson attempted to save shots fired at him.
Meanwhile, Brazilian Ronaldo has finally broken his silence over his iconic 2002 World Cup final haircut.
The legendary striker was in perfect shape for the Samba Boys during the world extravaganza, guiding them to the finals with his solitary goal against Turkey in the semis.
But ahead of the finals against Germany, he left supporters dumbfounded after he debuted a weird hairstyle that had him shave his hair off, sparing just his fringe.
Whereas others found the haircut horrible, there were those who admired it as it sparked a craze among school kids who also went for the look.
Nearly two decades later, Ronaldo has come out to admit the style was not as great, revealing even his own teammates did not approve of it.
Legit.ng earlier reported that remarkable performance by Belgian international Romelu Lukaku has seen the former Manchester United striker surpass the goals record of legendary Brazilian star Ronaldo at Italian club Inter Milan.
The 27-year-old who left Old Trafford for Inter in 2019 for £73million has been in blistering form scoring goals with ease in the Serie A.
After 86 matches with the San Siro outfit, Lukaku has so far scored 60 goals which is thirteen matches less than what Brazilian phenomenon Ronaldo achieved during his time.
