The governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, has agreed to obey the Supreme Court judgement directing him to pay salaries and allowances of sacked local government officials.

Recall that the governor had dissolved the council officials who were elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his inauguration back in 2019.

The affected parties took the matter to the apex court which ruled that they should be paid all their salaries and allowances from May 2019 to March 2022.
