Talent manager and Burna Boy's mum, Bose Ogulu, has revealed in an interview with TV host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu that her son did not receive any money at his homecoming.
Few days after Burna Boy won his first-ever Grammy, he was hosted in Port Harcourt for a homecoming event to celebrate his milestone and he was given nothing short of a royal welcome.
The event was reportedly organised by the Rivers state government. Governor Nyesom Wike promised to give all the artistes who performed at the event N10 million each.

According to Burna's mum, every artiste at the event actually got paid except him because the event was organised to honour him.
On the question of the singer relating with the same people in government he has criticised, Ogulu disclosed that it made no sense for anyone to refuse honour in his father's house.
She continued by stating that the only reason Burna showed up was because the state decided to honour him for achieving one of the greatest feat in his career.

The talent manager also said she did not think that anyone was trying to buy her son on their side with the gesture.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Tacha took to her page on Twitter with a video in which she lashed out at fellow Nigerians who faulted Rivers governor, Nyesom Wike, for his gifts to Burna Boy and other artistes.
An aggrieved Tacha specifically stated those who thought the gifts to Burna Boy were not necessary were simply insane.
According to her, entertainment has been ‘dead’ in Port Harcourt for a while and it should be applauded that Wike thought to appreciate the Grammy-winner by giving him a piece of land.
