Apprehension in Anambra As Gunmen Attack Vigilance Office, Kill Five

Gunmen have reportedly killed five people during an attack on a vigilance office in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra state.
The Nation reported that the office and vehicles of the vigilance group in the area were also razed by the attackers.
The hoodlums were said to have carried out the attack around 7pm on Sunday, May 9.
The Anambra police command told journalists that security operatives have been deployed to the area.
According to The Punch, the command’s spokesman, Ikenga Tochukwu, stated that normalcy has been restored to the area.
Tochukwu said:
‘’Yes, there was an attack in Ozubulu but not the police station but Vigilante office by the hoodlums.
“They came in Sienna vehicles, motorcycles, and attacked the office of the vigilante.''
In another news, the police have arrested a driver after his truck loaded with live bullets fell in Onitsha, Anambra state, creating a scene of panic.
The incident occurred on Sunday, May 9, with cartons of live bullets scattered on the road as the truck fell into a ditch.
The conductor of the truck, however, took to his feet immediately the incident happened on Akwa road, multiple media sources reported.
Meanwhile, some unknown gunmen on Thursday night, May 6, attempted to attack Orlu Divisional Police Headquarters in Imo state.
Security operatives in a joint operation, however, repelled the attack and killed some of the hoodlums.
Legit.ng gathers that they also recovered seven vehicles the attackers came with for the operation.
Still on security, the Nigerian Army has disclosed that 11 members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) linked to the proscribed group, Indigenous People of Biafra, have been killed by security forces.
The army said troops along with policemen killed the ESN fighters when they launched an attack on the police command in the Orlu local government area of Imo state on Thursday night May 6.
Brigadier General Mohammed Yerima, a spokesperson for the army in a statement via Facebook on Friday, May 7, stated that the IPOB/ESN terrorists were completely obliterated when a reinforcement team of the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Air Force came to support the police personnel.
