Most-Intelligent Student Award: Daniel Popemecas Ochomma Who Was Considered Dumb as a Child Wins

Daniel Popemecas Ochomma, a young man who was described as the dumb one among his siblings when he was growing up has narrated his grass-to-grace story.
In a conversation with Legit.ng, Daniel who hails from Nigeria but has schooled in Ghana for some time indicated that he used to suffer from low self-esteem as he was described as a 'blockhead' back then.

I was a child then, approaching the puberty/teenage stage of my life, so it really affected my self-esteem knowing people thought me to be a "blockhead".

However, with hard work and the determination to make himself proud, the light started to come to Daniel and he became one of the best students in junior high school.
I took that to the senior level and graduated with same. Everyone applauded and told me I beat their wildest imaginations as they never thought I'd find my footing, talk more of garnering good grades," he added.
To crown it all, Daniel was nominated in Tansian University, located in Anambra, for the most intelligent male award in his department (from 100 - 400 level) and ended up winning it.
Daniel said he shared his story to tell anyone who may be struggling academically that they can actually achieve success if they are determined to.

"You just have to starve your distractions and feed your focus", he said.

The Nigerian scholar identified as Fatima A. Akinola graduated with a perfect grade of 4.0/4.0 in mathematics from Marshall University, USA.
An elated Fatima, in a LinkedIn post, said it was her proudest achievement putting Nigeria in good light on the world map with her academic achievements.
