Delta Monarch to Osinbajo: Nigerians Are Happy With You, Says VP Is a Great Bridge-Builder

The Obi of Owa-Alero in Delta state, His Royal Majesty Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II on Thursday, May 6 heaped praises on Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who was on a one-day visit to the state.

The monarch declared that he was impressed by Osinbajo's pursuit of good governance and efforts to ensure peaceful coexistence across the country.

Osinbajo was in the south-south state to commission the newly built Federal Road Safety Corps Marshal Inspector Training School in Owa-Alero.

Before proceeding to the venue of the event, the vice president visited the traditional ruler in his palace as a mark of respect.

At the event monitored by Legit.ng, the monarch thanked the vice president for his support to Delta governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and the people of the state at large, noting that:

“The relationship which exists between two of you and indeed the federal government transcends party lines. This is politics of civilization; that is politics progression; that is politics of conviviality.”

He added:

“We the members of this community, and indeed the Delta people at large, want to thank you for the respect, honour and dignity accorded our governor and the state.”

Commending the VP’s disposition to governance while extolling his good leadership qualities, Dr Efeizomor II said:

“You are indeed great. You are a scholar, professor emeritus, agent of peace. At any given time, you have had the opportunity to exercise power, you have brought peace. People talk about it and it is crystal clear that you are doing very well.”

He continued:

“Nigeria is very happy with you. We are bearing testimony to the fact that the way you are contributing to the growth of this country, to the stability of this country, is appreciated.
“We in Delta state appreciate you. We respect the federal government under President Muhammadu Buhari; we adore the federal government; we support the federal government. We will work for the progress of this country and we will work for the upliftment and unity of this country.”

Legit.ng had earlier reported that the vice president, while in Delta state, advised proponents of secession in the country to drop such campaigns.

According to him, Nigeria was a great nation notwithstanding its diversity and current challenges, adding that Nigerians should harness the inherent benefits in the country to promote sustainable socio-economic growth and development.

The Delta state commissioner for information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, had earlier this week, disclosed to journalists that the project was executed by the Delta state government in support of the federal government.

He said the facility has an administrative block, auditorium, lecture rooms, male and female hostels, residential apartments, cafeteria, clinic, driving range, and a football field.
