We Pray Sponsors of Insecurity Are Not Opposition Members: APC Replies PDP, Reveals What Buhari Is Doing

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said President Muhammadu Buhari has the capacity to end the current insecurity plaguing Nigeria.

This was in response to a communique issued by the governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the state of the nation and recent happenings.

John Akpan Udoedehe, the national secretary of the APC caretaker/extraordinary convention planning committee, in a statement, said the party shares the concerns of all well-meaning Nigerians, including the opposition party.

In the statement shared on the official Twitter handle of the ruling party, Nigerians were warned not to politicises the insecurity situation.

According to Udoedehe, this is not the time to play to the gallery but find solutions to the insecurity issue, which is what Buhari is doing.

He said the PDP governors ought to know that making divisive comments will only give the criminals more courage to keep causing havoc.

The ruling party said President Buhari has ordered security agencies to check the spate of attacks across the country and investigations are ongoing to fish out the sponsors and perpetrators.

The statement added:

“We pray the investigations should not reveal conspiracies by the opposition to weaken the government in furtherance of their desperate 2023 aspirations."

PDP says Akpabio should be investigated

The PDP in an earlier report had raised concerns over insecurity in the country. It raised alarm over comments made by the minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio.

The opposition called on the DSS to compel Akpabio to name politicians in the APC who are behind the acts of terrorism and banditry ravaging the country nation.
