More details have emerged about the killing of Ikonson Commander, a leader of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), a militia group linked to the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).
Ikonson was identified as the vice president-designate of IPOB. Security forces said he commanded series of violent attacks on security personnel and formations in the southeast and south-south of the country.

A joint operation by the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army, and Department of State Services has led to the killing of one Commander Ikonson, identified as the vice president-designate of proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).
Channels TV reported that six other fighters of the militia group linked to the IPOB were also killed, while two other members were arrested in the joint operation.

The residence of Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state, Omuma in Oru East Local government area, was on Saturday, April 24, torched by an unknown gang of gunmen who also succeeded in killing a security officer.
A source who spoke with Punch said the invaders in a gun battle with security operatives, shot dead two of them, adding that the inferno destroyed vehicles around the governor's house.
4. Unknown Gunmen Shoot Imo State Commissioner, Others in Owerri
The Punch is reporting that the Imo commissioner for entrepreneurship and skill acquisition, Iyke Ume has been shot by unknown gunmen in the state capital, Owerri.
According to the report, there was panic in the state capital, as the armed men also shot four other motorists during the attack on Sunday night, April 25.
One of the motorists was said to have been shot while driving an unmarked security vehicle at Orji, on Owerri-Okigwe road very close to the Orji Divisional Police Headquarters.
