2023: PDP Takes Final Decision on Uche Secondus, Sends Warning to Members

- The PDP has made its decision as to who will lead it to victory come the 2023 elections

- Uche Secondus, according to the party's NEC, is to retain his seat as the national chairman

- The Secondus-led NWC was given an approving nod up on Thursday, April 29

The Peoples Democratic Party has given a vote of confidence on its National Working Committee (NWC) led by Uche Secondus.

The opposition in a tweet revealed that the decision was taken on Thursday, April 29, by the National Executive Council (NEC).

In the same message, the PDP warned all its members and supporters to beware of persons it described as agents of distraction and division.

It said:

"The @OfficialPDPNig NEC unanimously passes a vote of confidence on the @UcheSecondus-led NWC of our great party and urges members to be wary of agents of distraction and division."

Meanwhile, Governor Abdullahi Sule had been endorsed by the Nasarawa chapter of the PDP in Akwanga local government area in the bid to lead the state for a second term.

This was revealed by Samuel Tsebe, a member representing Akwanga South in Nasarawa Assembly on the platform of the PDP, during a critical stakeholders meeting.

According to the lawmaker, his decision to ensure Sule’s success in 2023 is based on his achievements, particularly numerous road construction in Akwanga local government.

Tsebe went on to commend Sule’s remarkable and exemplary leadership as well as the monumental infrastructural development evident across the state.

He also expressed full satisfaction with the prudent manner in which the governor has managed resources of the state which had resulted in the prompt payment of salaries of civil servants and pension of retirees.

The Nasarawa state governor said he is not bothered about a second term in office. Sule speaking with journalists in Lafia, the state capital, said one term in office was “good enough.”

The governor went on to note that he has never been scared of the reality he could only spend a term in office.
