Chimamanda Adichie Sorrowfully Mourns Mum's Death, Says She Died on Late Father’s Birthday

Renowned writer Chimamanda Adichie has taken to her social media page to mourn the death of her mum. She also gave details of how her mother died on her father's birthday.
In a post she made on her official Instagram page, the Nigerian author revealed that her mother had gone to work on Friday preceding her death and went about her normal life on Saturday until Sunday evening when she began feeling unwell.
She was taken to the hospital. However, a few hours after, she felt better.

The doctor even sent an update the next morning to say she was doing well. But moments later, the doctor surprisingly had her transferred to a teaching hospital.
Chimamanda said:
"Two hours after she arrived at the teaching hospital, she died. It was March 1st. My father's birthday. We were planning for my father's iyipu-akwa, to mark the end of a formal mourning period, and now I cannot believe we are planning another funeral. Again."
