Reality star Mercy Eke has shared her story of humble beginnings at the eighth edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference (#NECLive8) which was held on Sunday, April 25.
According to the BBNaija star, she sold corn, fuel, and did various businesses to survive.
The Pepper Dem star noted that she worked hard for all she has and nothing was handed to her on a platter of gold.

She said:
“Sometimes it gets me very emotional to see how far I’ve come from where I started. From selling corn to fuel, to a lot of other businesses I did before, I’m very proud of myself, and I know that there are a lot of people looking up to me."
Mercy noted that she looks back at her journey with pride, in spite of her rough childhood.
According to her, she grew up in a family of six and she managed to complete her university education despite the challenges.
The Pepper Dem star noted that she got to where she is by sheer hard work.
