Ondo Raises Alarm, Claims There is a Plot to Undermine Governor Akeredolu’s Government

- The administration of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has revealed that some enemies are working against it

- According to the administration, the idea is to discredit the sunshine state governor and some senior government officials

- According to a commissioner, those behind the plot have started circulating some fake documents to tarnish the governor's image

Nigerians have been told of a grand plan to blackmail Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and some senior government officials.

This was revealed in Akure on Sunday, April 25, by the commissioner for information and orientation, Donald Ojogo, Punch reports.

The statement read that those behind the plot obtained fake documents and have already sent it to selected media houses.

Ojogo blamed those who have refused to move on after the state governorship election for being responsible for this plot.

He maintained that the Akeredolu-led administration stood on the tripod of integrity, transparency and accountability.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the Ondo state government petitioned the Nigerian police over alleged unlawful possession of official vehicles by Agboola Ajayi, the immediate past deputy governor.

The state government accused the former deputy governor of refusing to return four official vehicles in his possession months after leaving office.

Legit.ng gathered that Governor Akeredolu's senior assistant on special duties and strategy, Dr. Doyin Odebowale, signed the petition.

Also, Legit.ng also reported that a lot of stakeholders in Nigeria are becoming increasingly skeptical about the possibility of achieving a free, fair, and credible election in 2023 amidst the worsening security situation in the country.

With the current trend of insecurity in the different geo-political zones of the country, there is a general apprehension that things could get worse before the next election.

Some prominent leaders of thought have also expressed fear that the people’s desire for a smooth change of leadership in the 2023 general elections could be marred by violence and other forms of criminalities if left unattended to by the Buhari administration.
