Just In: Tears as 9 Wedding Guests Die in Edo Road Accident
- Nine unnamed persons have allegedly lost their lives in a road accident that occurred in Edo state on Saturday, April 24
- The victims were said to be wedding guests travelling to Ewatto community in the Esan South East local government area
- The FRSC command has confirmed the accident but gave a different casualty figure

Nine persons were on Saturday, April 25, reportedly killed in an accident that occurred at Ekpon junction on the Agbor-Ewohimi road in the Igueben local government area of Edo state.
Daily Trust reports that the deceased were travelling to Ewatto community in the Esan South East local government area from Benin to attend a wedding ceremony when the accident happened.
The newspaper added that 10 passengers were involved in the accident but nine died on the spot while one other sustained serious injuries.
Legit.ng gathers that a Seina bus conveying the victims collided with a trailer transporting cement to the southeastern region.
Meanwhile, the sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the south-south state, Henry Benamaisia, has also confirmed the tragic incident.
Benamaisia, however, said only five died, adding that three unconscious victims were rushed to the hospital while two others escaped unhurt.
He also attributed the accident to overspeeding and loss of control.

In other news, the death of a Nigerian man less than two hours before the commencement of his wedding ceremony has thrown some members of the Ikyangedu community in Nasarawa state into mourning.
The would-be husband, John Abugu, was knocked down by a vehicle when he went to pick up his wedding suit at the shop of a dry cleaner.
The bride, Rosemary Hudu, an entrepreneur, has been in a state of shock following the death of her Abugu. Expressing her pains, Rosemary stated that she would have wished to die along with the groom.
In another report, some young Nigerians lost their lives following a celebration of their newly acquired Lexus GX 460.
The young men are believed to be internet fraudsters, otherwise known as Yahoo boys.
They died after ramming the car into a stationary truck along the Agbarho-Ughelli section of the East-West Road near Ekiugbo Junction in Ughelli North local government area of Delta state.
