A report by Daily Nigerian indicates that the 15th emir of Kano from the Fulani Sullubawa clan, Aminu Ado Bayero, is bereaved.
Legit.ng gathered that the emir's mother, Maryam Bayero is dead.

The deceased, who was also the mother of the emir of Bichi, Nasiru Bayero, was the oldest living widow of the late emir Ado Bayero.
According to the report, family sources confirmed the patriarch's death, saying she died on the morning of Saturday, April 24, at a Cairo hospital, Egypt.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the second daughter of the late premier of northern Nigeria and Sardauna of Sokoto, Aishatu Ahmadu Bello, died at the age of 75.
The deceased was a widow to the late Marafan Sokoto, Ahmad Danbaba.
Aishatu's son, Hassan Danbaba, confirmed the death to the newspaper, saying she died at a Dubai hospital after a brief illness.
Danbaba said arrangements are being made to fly her remains from Dubai for burial in Sokoto.
Aishatu's father was the first and only premier of northern Nigeria from 1954 to 1966 when he was killed in a military coup.
In a related report, an elder statesman and Afenifere leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, explained that the late activist, Yinka Odumakin, helped him and the Afenifere group to let Nigerians understand the meaning of restructuring.

Pa Adebanjo noted that Odumakin's exemplary attitude as a young man made him compromise the Yoruba tradition that the old one must not be physically present in the activities organised for the burial of a younger one.
The Afenifere leader made this known on Thursday, April 22, during the lying-in-state and service of songs organised in honour of the late Afenifere spokesperson held at Police College, Lagos.
He added that he resolved to honour Yinka’s service to Nigeria and not his age, noting that he had witnessed many activists who started like the deceased but fell by the wayside.
