Two police officers, Sergeant Itumeleng Motalane and Constable Tilane Lebitsa, both stationed at Bethal SAPS, have been celebrated as heroines after they successfully assisted a woman to give birth near the police station gate.
According to reports, an unidentified man noticed a heavily pregnant woman walking near the police station crying for help. Panicked and unsure of what action to take, the gentlemen then alerted Sergeant Motalane about the situation.

Motalane immediately left everything she was doing, rushed outside and found the 35-year-old woman with her husband and her sister. Constable Lebitsa came rushing to the scene soon after to offer assistance.
With the woman in excruciating labour pains, the policewomen knew they'd have to act fast if the mother and child were to survive. Sergeant Motalane and Constable Lebitsa calmly took action and eventually assisted the woman to deliver her fourth healthy baby boy.
After the baby was born, the officers took the mother and her child to Bethal Hospital for medical care. The pair were then admitted to the hospital and both child and mother were declared healthy.
