I Tried to Bleach My Skin, Singer Tiwa Savage Opens Up in New Interview

Popular Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, is one of the black and beautiful celebrities around and she shocked many after revealing that she tried to bleach her skin in the past.
While speaking with Allure Magazine, the mother of one opened up on how she felt out of place with her white friends as a teenager and tried to make her skin lighter.
According to her, she was around 14 or 15 when she mixed lemons with her body creams to help her bleach. The singer however had a rethink after her mother discovered her mixtures and was disappointed.

Mama Jam Jam as she is also called said that despite her putting an end to the bleaching, she was still insecure about her dark skin. Tiwa disclosed that she still has patches on her back to this day owing to her experiments.
In her words:
“I actually did try to bleach my skin when I was about, I think 14 or 15 years. Even now I have patches on my back. My mom was cleaning my room and saw the cream that I used to mix with lemons. She wasn’t angry. it was more her disappointment. So I stopped but I was always insecure about being dark.”

In other similar news, Legit.ng earlier reported that Cameroonian singer and entrepreneur, Dencia, called out Nigerian blogger, Linda Ikeji, for dragging her for years on her page over skin bleaching.
The singer accused the celebrity blogger of bleaching her skin after criticising her years ago.
Dencia who is known for being an advocate for skin bleaching wrote in one tweet:
