Worthy Example: Nigerian Governor Hails Armed Police Officer Assaulted in Viral Video

ASP Sunday Erhabor, a police officer attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos state command has been hailed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his calmness after he was assaulted by a civilian identified as Victor Ebhomenyen.
Legit.ng gathered that the incident caught on camera in a viral video on social media took place at Four Point by Sheraton Hotel, Oniru on Saturday, April 17, as the officer tried to arrest Ebhomenyen for driving against traffic.
In the video, Ebhomenyen and his accomplice inflicted severe body injuries on Erhator after the policeman and his colleagues stopped their vehicle.
The Lagos state governor on Monday, April 19, praised ASP Erhabor for displaying maturity in the face of provocation and assault by unruly motorists while receiving him at the Lagos House, Ikeja.
Sanwo-Olu who made this known in a series of tweets via his official Twitter handle commended the police officer for his patience, decorum, adding that he is a worthy example to others in the force.
According to him, Erhabor's action is a testimonial that officers can be civil in the discharge of their duties.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that some unnamed naval ratings attacked an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and left him injured for apprehending the driver of a commercial Volkswagen bus.
This was revealed in a statement released by the special adviser to the Lagos governor on transport, Oluwatoyin Fayinka, on Friday, April 9.
Eyewitnesses said the bus obstructed the flow of traffic at Onipanu inward Fadeyi on the Ikorodu Road.
The vehicle was later tracked down at Fadeyi inward Jibowu by a LASTMA team after the driver tried to evade arrest.
