Breaking: Many Feared Dead, Properties Worth Millions Destroyed as Petrol Tanker Explodes

Many houses, shops, and properties in Oshigbudu, Agatu local government area of Benue state went into flames on Sunday, April 18, following a fire explosion from a tanker loaded with petrol.
Channels TV citing an amateur video sent by an eyewitness reports that many have been feared dead following the explosion that is is believed to have gone out of control.
Dr. Emmanuel Shior, the executive secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency, confirmed the incident.
Shior went on to note that Governor Samuel Ortom has been brief on the development and a statement will be issued shortly.
According to The Sun, a fully loaded tanker conveying petroleum products fell at Oshigbudu-Obagaji junction and emptied its content which spread to a filling station along Oweto axis caused the inferno that led to the disaster.
A source who identified himself as Odeh speaking to the newspaper witness said the actual number of casualty is not yet known because the inferno was still raging.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a gas explosion that rocked the Amuwo-Odofin local government area of Lagos state on Tuesday, April 13, has left many persons injured.
The incident took place at Iyasoko Street Agboju, Amuwo-Odofin by 7 pm. The tragedy was confirmed by the Nosa Okunbor, the public relations officer of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
In a related development, several persons were feared to have lost their lives after a petrol tanker rammed into some vehicles along the ever-busy Abuja-Keffi Nasarawa expressway on Saturday, March 6.
The unfortunate incident happened at about 10 pm when the tanker reportedly went out of the driver’s control before colliding with the vehicles.
