The governor of Katsina state, Bello Masari has revealed that despite the “rubbish” some people are doing President Muhammadu Buhari has tolerated Nigerians.
Masari who made the disclosure while speaking in an interview with Television Continental (TVC) said that the Nigerian leader has also not failed on his campaign promises.
The governor in a clip from the interview stated that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) remains the most reliable party in Nigeria notwithstanding the nation’s challenges.
He said:
“I think APC is still the strongest, most reliable and dependable party in Nigeria today. (And) I don’t think Buhari has failed us. I think he has tolerated us,” he said.
Speaking further, Masari admitted that he believes APC is the reliable party because he leads Katsina, in addition to being a member of the ruling party.
The governor is of the opinion that protests over dissatisfaction with the current administration are expected in a democracy like Nigeria.
He added that things would have been different under a former president, who he did not disclose their name.
Meanwhile, Umar Sani, a former senior special assistant on media and publicity to the ex-vice president, Namadi Sambo, has reacted to a protest staged by some Nigerians during President Buhari's recent trip to London.
The governor of Zamfara state, Bello Matawalle, had described the protest as an attack on the people of the northern part of the country.
In an exclusive interview with Legit.ng, Sani, however, said the protest by Nigerians in London was to register their displeasure over insecurity, poor economic management and corruption in the country.
It would be recalled that President Buhari arrived in Nigeria via the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport from the United Kingdom where he went on medical vacation for two weeks.
The president left the country on March 30, for his first medical trip in over a year. Buhari, after a brief welcoming ceremony at the airport, boarded a presidential helicopter that conveyed him to the Presidential Villa.
