Adamawa Community: SGF Shares the Reason for President Buhari's Sadness

President Muhammad Buhari on Sunday, April 18, expressed sadness over the recent Boko Haram attack in Kwapre community, Hong Local Government Area (LGA) of Adamawa state.

The Nigerian leader sent a condolence message to the people through Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, P.M News reports.

Mustapha representing Buhari said the president has seen the level of destruction which is tragic of monumental dimension.

The SGF made the disclosure when he visited the community on Sunday, adding that the federal government will do all that is possible to protect the lives and property of citizens.

While noting that he was deeply saddened by what he saw, the president expressed his deepest sympathy and condolence to the affected community.

Premium Times also reports that information available from the incident states that Boko Haram insurgents had on Friday, April 9, attacked the community.

Over 78 houses, 12 shops, schools, and four worship centres were destroyed in the attack.

Simon Yakubu, district head of Dugwaba, revealed that Kwapre has turned into a ghost town as the entire community has been displaced as a result of the devasting destruction

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Boko Haram insurgents reportedly staged a fresh attack in Damasak, the headquarters of the Mobbar local government area of Borno state, killing at least 10 people.

The attack occurred on Tuesday night, April 13, citing the chairman of the local government, Mustapha Bako Kolo, as its source.

An unspecified number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) were also injured during the attack.

In a related development, Bashir Magashi, the minister of defence, revealed that President Buhari is sad over the recent killing of soldiers in Benue state.

Magashi made this disclosure on Thursday, April 14, during his visit to Governor Samuel Ortom in Makurdi, the state capital.

The minister added that although the development affected the Nigerian Army negatively, the forces should not be discouraged and lose hope.
