1. Tragedy as Former Nigerian Governor Dies of Undisclosed illness
A former military governor of Oyo and Ondo state, Ahmed Usman, has reportedly died of an undisclosed illness.
The Nation newspaper reported that the retired colonel died around 3am on Wednesday, April 14, in Jos, the Plateau state capital.
The publication stated that the body of the former governor was taken for burial in his village at Okura-Lafia, in Kogi state.
2. Tears as Nigerian Army Reveals, Names, Photos of 12 Soldiers Killed by Militia Group
The Nigerian Army has released the names and photos of eleven soldiers and one officer, Captain Adeolu Adebayo, who were killed while on a peace mission to the troubled Bonta village in Benue state.
The Nigerian Army stated that the troops were killed on Tuesday, April 6, in the Konshisha local government area of Benue.
Daily Trus reported that the soldiers have been buried at the cemetery at Wurukum in Makurdi.

JAMB's spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, stated that registration has now fully commenced, The Guardian reported.

The ministry of communications and digital economy said this in a statement signed by Femi Ademiluyi, a technical aide to minister Isa Pantami.

According to Fabian Benjamin, the head of public affairs and protocols of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the University of Abuja is one of the Nigerian tertiary schools offering illegal admission to students.
Benjamin in a statement on Tuesday, April 13, claimed that the institution grants admissions to candidates without recourse to its Central Admissions Processing System(CAPS), Daily Trust reports.
Moreover, JAMB's spokesman, said the university also requires students to pay acceptance fees for admission.
