Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has berated Ayodele Fayose, former Ekiti state governor, for describing him as “quiet but deadly”.
Legit.ng had reported that Fayose, commenting on the outcome of the southwest Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) congress held in Osun state, said Governor Makinde looks quiet but he is deadly.
The former Ekiti state governor alleged that the Oyo state's transport union leader and other thugs went to the venue of the congress in a convoy of Governor Makinde of Oyo state in a bid to attack him.
Makinde looks quiet but he's deadly - Fayose talks tough, insists he won southwest PDP congress election
He added that the election was rigged, insisting that his candidate won the election.
However, in a statement by Makinde’s media aide, Taiwo Adisa, the former Ekiti governor was warned against spreading a false narrative about the congress, The Punch reported.
Contrary to Fayose's claim, the Oyo state governor's aide said the congress will go down the history lane as one of the most peaceful PDP congresses in the southwest zone.
Adisa also said describing the Oyo state governor as looking quiet but deadly is malicious and wicked.
He wondered why Fayose who had earlier accepted Governor Makinde as the leader of the PDP in the southwest would go back to start media warfare against the Oyo state governor.
According to him, Governor Makinde is a man renowned for being a peaceful politician who has never got anything by violence, Nigerian Tribune also reported.
Nigerians react
Tafa Taiwo Musbaudeen said on Facebook:
"I think why he referred gov. Makinde as"deadly" is because of the treat he received from makinde boys auxiliary and likes. The statement those boys mentioned in the video footage is bad for our politicians to be patronizing those deadly guys."
Elder Henry Ugochukwu claimed:
"Fayose is working for Tinubu and the APC to destabilize the PDP. Its high time the PDP get up from their sleep and get rid of the WEEDRATS SABOTEURS amongst them."
Uchenna Kennedy said:
"Must Nigerian politicians fight when things don't work out the way they want, na wahoo"
Onyedika Precious said:
"Governor please respect Fayose he is older than you both in politics and age. You people should be in peace."
Fakeyede Olayide said:
"Makinde didn't have mandate of SW... I hope he understand, he just had a victory... 343 against 330... just 13 difference, I beg, that's not a mandate of his people.. is just a mere victory... I think Fayose should just forget about the past and work together to defeat their common enemies..."
