UK Medical trip: FG Finally Opens up About President Buhari’s Return

The federal government has suggested that there is no big issue about when President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to return to Nigeria from his medical trip in London, United Kingdom.
The Nigerian president had left for a routine medical check in the UK on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, with the presidency assuring that he will be back in Abuja by the middle of April.
However, after 15 days in London, it is not yet certain when the president will return.
The minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, on Wednesday, April 14, refused to disclose any specific date when Buhari will return to the country from London, This Day reported.

According to This Day, when he was asked about the matter after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, Mohammed said:
“Today is Wednesday, this week finishes on Saturday. So, what’s the big issue in that one?”
The minister explained that the government was currently more concerned about the security challenges facing the country, The Punch reported.

Meanwhile, former Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s planned medical trip to the United Kingdom.
In a tweet on Tuesday, March 30, the former lawmaker asked when the UK prime minister Boris Johnson would be coming to Nigeria for medical treatment.
Melaye also advised Buhari to hand over to the vice president before embarking on his trip.
In another news, following the recent protest against President Muhammadu Buhari, the national president of the southern youths development forum, Pastor Bassey James, has appealed to Nigerians in the UK and the diaspora to vacate the premises housing the president.
James made the appeal when he spoke with Legit.ng in Lagos. According to him, Buhari has the right to seek medical check-ups anywhere especially following his earlier treatment.
