Kano Woman Turns Down Marriage Proposal Over Insult Against Ex-Governor, Stirs Reactions on Social Media

A Kano woman, who identified herself as Lubna Ali, says she rejected a marriage proposal from a person who disrespected Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a former governor of the northwestern state.

Lubna said that she would rather die single than marry someone who has no respect for her political hero, Daily Trust reported.

The woman noted that she started idolizing the former governor since her days in JSS 1 in 2003. She added that Kwankwaso who is the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement is more than a political leader to her.

She was quoted to have said:

“Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso means much more than a political leader to me, he is a father and mentor.
“I turned down a marriage proposal due to a disrespectful act against my mentor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, even though he does not know me in person.”

The lady added that she had dotted her first car, 406, with posters of the senator.

Aminu Maaruf said:

"Admiration for kwankwaso doesn't have any problem but her decision and was entirely wrong! Which means anybody would marry want to marry her sometimes later must be patient and be careful because half of her belongs to his otherwise (sic)"

Abdullahi Sulaiman said:

"The man supposed to respect her feelings as per as it doesn't cross the line of his faith. That's Kwankwaso for you, the man has impacted so much on the lives of the common man. Allah ya ida nufi Madugu."

In another related development, a video has emerged on social media wherein a Nigerian man could be seen proposing marriage to his girlfriend in a mall.

The young man went on his knee to ask the lady to marry him but he was rejected by his lover who asked him if he was capable of giving her a baby.

As the lady asked him the question, the man could not utter a word. Shortly afterwards, he was helped on his feet as he began to cry, claiming he used his manhood for money ritual for the lady's sake.
