Part of her tweets read:

“Sowore, it's sad that you of all people could take advantage of my predicament. I went to prison last year November over #EndSARS but you decided to apply for a grant in my name without informing me, before, during, and after the application was made.”

The lawyer mentioned in the case has since stated his own side of the story via his Twitter account.

Part of his tweets read:

“I never applied for any grant on behalf of Adeniji. I've also never received any grant for my human rights cases before. Sowore and Tosin know this. Sadly, one of them isn't making full disclosure.”

Sowore has also addressed the issue via his own Twitter handle.

Part of his tweets read:

“Adeniji reached out to me earlier claiming a grant app was written in her name and I have confirmed to her that nothing of such existed. Further, I volunteered to refund her if any grant was collected on her behalf without her knowledge!”

Meanwhile, the African Alliance Congress (AAC) has insisted that Sowore has been expelled from the party.

The party further stated that Sowore should be arrested by the police for impersonation if he parades himself as the party's leader.
