Former Arsenal star teams up with Hollywood celebrity, supermodel to buy Mexican football club
- Mesut Ozil is part of celebrities that want to acquire shares of Mexican club Necaxa
- Mexican native and Hollywood actress Eva Longoria and model Kate Upton are also a part of the acquisition
- Half of the club's stakes will be bought over to revive the 1999 CONCACAF Champions League winners

Mesut Ozil along with Hollywood actress Eva Longoria and supermodel Kate Upton are set to acquire majority shares of top Mexican club Necaxa, Daily Mail.
It is understood that the deal will in no time be sealed by the trio of celebrities who were involved in the group behind the share purchase.
The club released a statement that despite the acquisition of its major shares, there would be no change of ownership.

Necaxa also added that an agreement in principle with an investment group has been reached but its yet to be made official by the ownership and the Mexican football federation.
"We are planning to be partners with a group with an extensive experience in soccer and in management of top clubs at an international level,' the statement read.
"This agreement will strengthen our institution and take it to the next level.
"Club Necaxa will continue to operate under the same administration that took over in 2014 promoting the team from the second division and consolidating its position in the first division."
Necaxa has won the league championship three times and the 1999 CONCACAF Champions League.
They played at the FIFA Club World Cup competition staged in Brazil and played a draw with European Champions Manchester United.
The club are currently languishing at the bottom of the table with just 10 points from 14 matches so far this season.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that embattled Arsenal player Mesut Ozil has named former Nigerian international Austin Jay Jay Okocha as his idol while growing up.
The German star disclosed this during an interactive Q&A session with his followers on Twitter.
Ozil who was born in Germany to a Turkish family said that his favourite club was Fenerbahce as a young chap, where Super Eagles legend Okocha had spent two years.
Okocha who donned the clubs No.10 shirt during his stint with the club remains a clut hero thereafter scoring 34 times in 62 games.
