Lauretta Onochie, a presidential media, has raised crucial concerns over the whereabouts of some suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) who attacked police officers and facilities in the southeast on Sunday, March 28.
As a patriotic citizen, Onochie said although she is a fan of Nigerian security and justice institutions, she is worried that a repeat of the evil practice in which criminals and wanted persons in the country pay sum of money by their relatives and sponsors to escape justice.
According to the media aide, Nigerians hear a lot about the arrest of terrorists and bandits by the police but do not get to see the criminals prosecuted.
In light of this, Onochie asked a series of cogent questions like "Have the arrested persons been released to unleash terror on more innocent citizens? Where is justice for the officers they attacked? Can criminality be reduced in Nigeria when criminals are not sentenced?

She also inquired:
"Have their owners settled some unwholesome officers at the relevant stations?"
Earlier, the Nigeria police had arrested 16 members of IPOB and recovered guns and bombs from them.
This was disclosed in a statement released by the spokesperson of the police, Frank Mba, on Sunday, March 27.
The police accused the arrested suspects of being complicit in a series of violent and unprovoked attacks on security operatives and facilities in the southeast region and other states.
Legit.ng gathered that the arrest was the outcome of a joint effort by the police, the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Airforce, to nab persons responsible for the emerging trend of attacks on security personnel and wanton destruction of security facilities.
