A young Nigerian lady with the Twitter handle @DutchessAonani has lamented that her father, who is an ex-soldier, lost everything he worked for.
Making the disclosure on Twitter, the young lady said the old man has fallen into depression after his house was burnt down by some hoodlums.
In her words:
"Thursday, 8th of April 2021, it came to my notice that everything my father had worked for, everything he has suffered to put together after over 20years of serving the country as a soldier vanished in his very own eyes."
She said the old man moved into his recently completed house in January 2021, a building valued at N20m.
According to her, the house was his major physical achievement and a product of hard work and diligent service to his country as a military man.
Her post continued:
"The unfortunate incident happened due to the old communal issues between my town (Share in Ifelodun LG of Kwara state) and the neighbouring town (Tsaragi, Edu LG of Kwara state) who are NUPE. The communal issues date back to the 90's. Sad!"
She said her father contemplated suicide because of the loss. The young lady urged people to come to their rescue as they've lost everything.
Reacting to the post, tweep with the handle @PatienceAbekav1 wrote:
"This is so appalling. I don't even know how to console you cos it's so disheartening.... My dear... All is well.... Stay close to your dad and make sure he's doing fine."
