About a year spent away from his home country, the Duke of Sussex finally made the 8,690 kilometres journey back home from the US.

This is no annual visit as Prince Harry is back home specifically for his grandfather's funeral, the late Prince Philip.

According to The Sun, Harry was spotted alighting a British Airways flight from Los Angeles at Heathrow Airport on Sunday, April 12.

The 36-year-old is reported to have met police cars and security staff waiting for his arrival, hopped in a black Range Rover and left for the palace.

The Sun claimed he might have been taken to Kensington Palace to stay at the Nottingham Cottage, the same home he occupied with Meghan Markle when they were still in the UK.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Meghan was set to miss the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral.

According to the couple, Meghan was pregnant and will stay away from the royal ceremony on her doctor's advice.

This will be Harry's first reunion with his people since their interview with Oprah Winfrey, which went viral and negatively painted some of the royals.

However, this will not be a time to form any feud as the family says goodbye to a man that has served his country nearly all his life.

A report from Buckingham Palace indicated that Philip's funeral will be held at Windsor Castle on Saturday, April 17, per COVID-19 protocols.
