2023: Tinubu's ambition gets boost as lawmaker, MC Oluomo mobilise support for APC leader

- Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been described as the best politician to succeed President Buhari in 2023

- A member of the Lagos Assembly, Jude Idimogu, said that Tinubu has the capacity to lead the country

- According to him, Tinubu has proven his political sagacity when he was the governor of the state

A member of Lagos House of Assembly representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2, Jude Idimogu and the state chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musliu Akinsanya, have pledged unalloyed support for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu's rumoured presidential ambition.

Legit.ng reports that the duo also drummed support for the speaker of the state Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa for his senatorial ambition of representing Lagos West at the National Assembly in 2023.

The lawmaker also used the opportunity to launch his political platform, Abundance United Movement (AUM) at the Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of the state.

Idimogu said that the political ambition of the national leader of the APC should be supported across regions in the country, stressing that Tinubu has the experience the political sagacity to lead the country.

He said Tinubu is currently the most qualified person to be president in 2023, maintaining that having worked anxiously to improve the revenue-generating capacity of Lagos state.

While responding to questions as to the position of the southeast people who at various times said that they are justified to produce the next president of the country, the lawmaker said the zone is not ready for the presidency in 2023.

Idimogu noted:

"The southeast is not ready for President in 2023. My people should support Tinubu to be the next president. If you look at his contributions so far in Nigeria, you will also realise that he has the capacity, structure and network to win the election as president of this country.

"He is a great achiever, even as governor of Lagos state when his revenue allocation was not released, he devised a formula that made Lagos state what it is in terms of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). He is a true democratic, recall his days as National Democratic Coalition (NADECO)  member."

The lawmaker also noted that the programme was convened to support the speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, for his ambition of occupying the position of Lagos West senatorial seat in 2023.

Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, who was the chairman of the occasion, corroborated Idimogu and said that every Nigerian should support Tinubu for 2023.

He said that the Yoruba people, in particular, should support the APC national leader to lead the country to glory, stressing that Tinubu has the experience, capacity and connection to lead the country.

Oluomo said:

"He is a man of the people. He changed the face of Lagos state in 1999. The Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba should join hands, let us work for Tinubu in 2023. I like what Honourable Idimogu has done today. He is doing a great job in this constituency."

The president-general of Igbo speaking community in state, Chief Sunday Eze, said that he would always support Idimogu for the good job he is doing and that he would also support the national leader of APC because as a philanthropist, Tinubu would perform well if he gets the mantle of leadership as President in 2023.

Eze stated:

"I support every good work by any Igbo man in Lagos state, which is the reason I honoured the invitation of Idimogu for the launch of Abundance United Movement. I support Idimogu, and I must also say that he deserves another term, in office as a lawmaker, even a higher position because his good works have always spoken for him."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that ahead of the next presidential election in Nigeria, devoted loyalists of the APC national leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu launched a campaign in Ibadan, Oyo state capital.

It was reported that the supporters of the former Lagos governor who are made up of former senators, House of Representatives members, and some other politicians across southwest states initiated the ‘Bola Tinubu for President’.
