Police Killing 20-Year-Old Black Man Sparks Protests in America

Daunte Wright, a 20-year-old black man was on Sunday, April 11, shot dead by US policemen in Minneapolis during a stop for a traffic violation.
According to Reuters, the police tried to arrest the young man after determining he had an outstanding warrant.
Wright's death has, of course, fuelled protest among Americans, especially in the area which is just miles away from where George Floyd was killed during an arrest in May 2020.
It was also gathered that police fired tear gas and rubber bullets as protesters gathered in a Minneapolis suburb
A witness speaking to the news publication noted that before crowds marched to the police department building, rubber bullets hit at least two in the crowd and left one man bleeding from the head.
The National Guard was mobilised to restore order to the area after crowds gathered in front of the Brooklyn Center Police Department, ABC News reports.
A curfew was also imposed from Sunday through Monday morning, April 12.
Katie Wright, the mother of the deceased explained that she had received a call from her son when he was being pulled over by police.
She explained that she could hear the officers tell her son to get out of the vehicle. By the time Katie called back Wright's girlfriend said he had been shot.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that a 23-year-old Nigerian graduate, Alexander Nwogu, was shot dead in upper NW DC on Monday, October 5, 2020, by unknown gunmen.
Nwogu finished from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University also known as Virginia Tech five months ago.
According to Bruce Lesha, an American reporter who made the news known on Twitter, the Nigerian just got a job at Ernst and Young.
The man was murdered around 1:30 am at a Shell gas station of Connecticut Avenue. Will Ventura, his friend, said that that the late Nigerian was a very “hardworking and caring” person.
