Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi has been named among the best Premier League players for the week following his side's famous win over Chelsea in the English topflight.
Against all odds over the weekend, Semi Ajayi and his teammates at West Brom recorded an emphatic win over Chelsea in what was a painful defeat for Thomas Tuchel and his wards.
In fact, the Nigerian star was one of the best performers for West Brom in their Premier League encounter against Chelsea.
This helped the 27-year-old to be picked in the team of the week with the likes of Harry Kane, Diogo Jota, James Rodriguez, Robinson, Rodon also included.
Despite beating Chelsea in their last match, Semi Ajayi and his teammates are still in the relegation zone and they have limited chances of keeping their Premier League status.
Chelsea on the other hand are currently occupying fifth position on the Premier League table.
Ajayi began his football career as a youth product of the Charlton Athletic academy, and After progressing through the ranks, he was offered his first professional contract in January 2012.
Since 2018 that Semi Ajayi has been playing for the Super Eagles, the defender has featured 13 times for Nigeria and he is yet to score any goal.
He is expected to be called by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr for the coming World Cup qualifiers.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how former Super Eagles forward Osaze Odemwingie praised Semi Ajayi and his teammates for their brilliant win over Wolves in the Premier League.
Nigerian international Semi-Ajayi was among the scorers as Super eagles legend Odemwingie also acknowledged the brilliant header scored by the defender.
Odemwingie who spent three seasons at the Hawthorns scoring 30 goals in 87 appearances was in joyous mood to see his former club record narrow win.
Sam Allardyce men were resolute in the win at the Molineux as Matheus Pereira scored from the spot in the ninth minute before Fabio Silva equalized for Wolves.
Wily Boly then got Nuno Espirito Santo's men in front two minutes before half time but Seni Ajayi leveled matters seven minutes after the restart.
