American actress Viola Davis has received an Icon Award last night from the African-American Film Critics Association (AAFCA). The actress is honoured to receive the award and was elated with her success. She tweeted:

"Honoured to receive the Icon Award last night! Thank you @theaafca!"

The awards ceremony was the 12th Annual African American Film Critics Association Awards. Mariah Carey and Regina King also took home awards for their own respective categories.
