PDP endorses Nigerian governor for second term ahead of 2023

- Ahead of the next general elections, Governor Abdullahi Sule has been endorsed by his political party

- Sule got the full support of Nasarawa PDP based on the assessment of his achievements in the state

Governor Abdullahi Sule has been endorsed by the Nasarawa chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwanga local government area in the bid to lead the state for a second term.

This was revealed by Samuel Tsebe, a member representing Akwanga South in Nasarawa Assembly on the platform of the PDP, during a critical stakeholders meeting, The Nation reports.

According to the lawmaker, his decision to ensure Sule’s success in 2023 is based on his achievements, particularly numerous road construction in Akwanga local government.

Tsebe went on to commend Sule’s remarkable and exemplary leadership as well as the monumental infrastructural development evident across the state.

He also expressed full satisfaction with the prudent manner in which the governor has managed resources of the state which has resulted in the prompt payment of salaries of civil servants and pension of retirees.

The Cable had earlier reported that the Nasarawa state governor said he is not bothered about a second term in office.

Sule speaking with journalists in Lafia, the state capital, said one term in office is “good enough.”

The governor went on to note that he has never been scared of the reality he could only spend a term in office.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the Ebonyi state chapter of the PDP blasted the National Association of Nigerian Students for endorsing Governor David Umahi for the 2023 presidency.

This was disclosed in a statement by the state PDP publicity secretary, Silas Onu. The party said NANS simply made a mockery of itself by endorsing a man who had zero empathy for the plight of students.
