Former Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s planned medical trip to the United Kingdom.
In a tweet on Tuesday, March 30, the former lawmaker asked when the UK prime minister Boris Johnson would be coming to Nigeria for medical treatment.
He said:
"Buhari is going to UK for medical treatment, when is the UK prime minister Boris Johnson coming to Nigeria for medical treatment? SDM."
Legit.ng recalls that the presidency on Monday evening, March 29, announced that the Nigerian leader is scheduled to proceed to London for a routine medical check-up.
This was made known by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, via a short statement posted on his Facebook page. The statement noted that Buhari is due back in the country during the second week of April 2021.
The former federal lawmaker went on to urge the president to transfer power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo through a letter to the National Assembly in-line with the constitutional provision.
Melaye implored President Buhari to do this before leaving the country on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Melaye said he had apologised to God and Nigerians for supporting the candidacy of Buhari in 2015.
According to him, the agenda that brought Buhari into office was the “greatest scam that came out of Africa”, noting that he regretted supporting him.
The former senator said the Buhari government had failed Nigerians in all aspects, from security to economy and infrastructure.
In a related development, Melaye accused the Buhari administration of many abnormalities.
According to the outspoken politician, there is no longer governance in the Nigerian government.
Melaye disclosed this on his Twitter handle on Thursday, March 18. Nigerians in their usual characteristics on social media accused him of being part of those who misgoverned the country.
