The contentious tweet was made on Wednesday, March 25, 2021, by 6 pm.

Oluwafeyisayo is also seeking the sum of N50 million as compensation for damages and a retraction of the statement with an apology within 7 days of a court judgement.

Legalvision asserts that after a memorandum of claim has been drafted, it will be filed with the court and served on the other party to the dispute. Filing the statement of claim is what starts the process of going to court.

Responding to the paperwork, the accused in a new tweet said:

"I received it and my lawyers will reply you soon."

The paperwork has sparked huge reactions among Nigerians.

"She has brought disrepute to her name (which may impede her from being perceived as credible in her future endeavors), and caused her grave emotional stress.
"Lol, but still 50m is far from reality tbh."

@FineNigerian said:

"One candid thing to note in defamatory cases is to establish a link between the defamatory tweet to a proportionate loss of income, finances and reputation. Suing an individual for a whopping 50 million as damages over a perfume theft tweet shows absolute disconnect from reality."

@Ike_Obiora commented:

"Demanding ₦52M doesn't mean the Court will award that. The Court can end up awarding ₦10K."
