Some Nigerians have been reacting to the statement via social media.

Femi Makanjuola asks:
“Posting this in 2021 should be a shame. So no standard hospital in Nigeria to date?”

“Isn’t there a hospital at Aso Rock? Anyways, healthcare is in shambles here hence medical tourism.”
Ukeme Abasi wrote:
“Why can't we invest in restructuring our health care system? Imagine the cost of service in UK. Terrible.”
Ify Buchi wrote:
“Part of his campaign promises was to curb medical tourism but ever since he has been London check-up personified.”
Hamzat Oriyomi wrote:
“May Almighty Allah be with him throughout his journey and give him more life.”
Musa Yakubu Mustapha wrote:
“Ordinary citizens are struggling with poor health care service in the country, dying every single day. And this is coming from a man who was crying during his campaign as to the status of things in the country.”
More than a year ago, President Buhari arrived in Nigeria after his United Kingdom trip on a private visit.
The president's return was then tweeted by one of his aides, Lauretta Onochie around 10: 19 pm on Friday, November 15, 2019.
Meanwhile, the presidency has dismissed the rumour making the round that there is a rift between President Buhari and Tinubu.
According to Garba Shehu, media aide to the president, the fact that Tinubu is not around the Presidential Villa every day does not make him less of a friend to the president and the administration.
