Bad Weather Forces Osinbajo to Cancel Flight to Kano for Tinubu's Birthday Colloquium
- Yemi Osinbajo will only be able to attend Bola Tinubu's birthday celebration virtually
- The vice president was expected to be at the occasion until bad weather disrupted his plans
- Meanwhile, Osinbajo conceived the idea and has been organising the Colloquium in the last 12 years

Despite his efforts in organising the event, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will only be able to attend the 12th BAT Colloquium virtually from the Presidential Villa.
According to Laolu Akande, senior special assistant, media and publicity to the VP, this change of plans was caused by bad weather.
Akande made this known on his Twitter handle on Monday, March 29.
He wrote:
"VP Osinbajo spending the day celebrating Ashiwaju on his 69th birthday. Was on course to Kano this morning until weather conditions aborted travel plans. He'll alongside Mr. President join the 12th BAT Colloquium virtually from the Presidential Villa. Happy birthday to Ashiwaju."
Meanwhile, Nigerians have quickly shared their thoughts on the latest development with many praising the vice president and Tinubu.

"It’s so sad that the weather interrupted the VP’s trip to Kano. I’m sure those expecting him in Kano won’t be happy about this. Happy Birthday to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu."

Reports also have it that the minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola, was expected to travel to the occasion with the VP.
Meanwhile, Buhari has felicitated with Tinubu on the occasion of his 69th birthday.
Buhari conveyed his heartfelt wishes to his political ally in a message signed by presidential spokesman Garba Shehu on Sunday, March 28.
Buhari affirmed that the former governor has inspired many leaders and continues to nurture talents for the benefit of the country.
