Aminu Saidu, A Kano state-born politician, has declared his intention to contest for the 2023 presidency on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Daily Trust reported that the 35-year-old said he is contesting in line with the ‘Not too young to run’ law which encourages young politicians to contest elections in the country.

Saidu expressed optimism that Nigerians and his party members would support his aspiration.
His words:
“We have to explore the not too young to run law as a people whose concern is to have a better Nigeria. I am optimistic that if the previous Nigerian generations did wonderfully at a younger age – leaders like Tafawa Balewa, Ahmadu Bello, Murtala Muhammed, Abubakar Rimi and many of them – can set such wonderful records during their times as young leaders, we can use this opportunity to make history again."
Meanwhile, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Kano state governor, has said zoning should be respected because it is a strategy to winning the 2023 presidential election.
Governor Ganduje made this disclosure on Friday, February 12, when he appeared as a guest on Channels TV's Politics Today programme monitored by Legit.ng.
According to the governor, the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), should allow power to move to the southern part of the country for the sake of fairness.
