American pop star, Taylor Swift and her mother, Andrea, have provided relief to a family who lost their breadwinner to COVID-19.

Swift and her mum donated N19 million to lend support to a local woman named Vickie Quarles and her five daughters.

The family lost their breadwinner, Theodis Ray Quarles, in December 2020, after a long battle with COVID-19.

Friends of the family launched a GoFundMe page to raise funds for them after the devastating loss.

Taylor and her mother donated to the GoFundMe page and it was confirmed by a friend of the family named DeQuanda Smith.

Speaking to E! News, Vickie told the media house that she was grateful for the support she received from Taylor.

She also thanked her for the personal note she left her.

"The road ahead will definitely not be the same without Theodis, but with each day, I am humbled and anchored in hope that I can continue to raise the girls," said Vickie.

The GoFundMe had a goal to reach $50,000 (about N19m), and N23 million has been raised already.
