Bronx rapper Cardi B's latest single Up has reached number one on the charts and she couldn't be more thrilled, but she, unfortunately, has to defend her successes while she's at the top. On Monday, Cardi B took to Instagram to set the record straight about her music.

"It’s sad that when I win people gotta scramble with lies for my success. Like they ain’t saw everybody, people coming out Amazon trucks and ambulances dancing my s***," said the rapper.

"Mind you, I didn’t debut number 1 because of my low radio play and WAP barely made radio cause it was so explicit yet still made number 1," she said.

Cardi finished off her post by saying that she's going to continue addressing the hate through her highly-anticipated next album.

The Bodak Yellow star is not letting anyone take away her shine and is hitting back at the doubters.

On March 14, 2021, during the Grammy Awards, 28-year-old American rapper, Cardi B alongside Megan Thee Stallion performed the hit track, WAP on stage and it was applauded by many. The Recording Academy also praised the performance on social media.

However, there were some people who did not like the performance and they took to social media to air their grievances. A number of them were mothers who said that it was inappropriate for the performance to air on TV because it wasn’t meant for children.

Cardi B was also criticised by Candace Owens on Tucker Carlson's show. She described WAP as an attack on American values and traditions.
